General Design and Components  of Scissor

1. Blades:

   • Material: Typically made of high-quality stainless steel, Japanese steel, or cobalt steel for enhanced sharpness and durability.
   • Length: Generally range from 4.5 to 8 inches (11.5 to 20 cm), with 5.5 to 6.5 inches being the most common for versatility.
   • Edges: The cutting edges are extremely sharp to ensure a clean cut. There are two main types of edges:
     • Convex Edge: Known for its razor-sharpness, allowing for smooth, precise cuts. Preferred for advanced cutting techniques.
     • Beveled Edge: Durable and suitable for various cutting techniques, though not as sharp as convex edges.

2. Handles:

   • Material: Made from metal, sometimes coated with plastic or rubber for additional comfort.
   • Design: Ergonomically shaped to reduce hand fatigue, often featuring offset handles where one handle is longer than the other. This design promotes a more natural hand position.
   • Finger Rest (Tang): A small protrusion on the handle where the little finger rests to provide additional control and comfort during cutting.

3. Pivot:

   • Tension Screw: The blades are connected at the pivot point by a tension screw, which can be adjusted to modify the tension and smoothness of the cut. High-quality scissors often feature a ball bearing tension system for a smoother action.
